Sudhir Gensets to set assembling unit in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 15: India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of power generators alternators, Sudhir Gensets Limited shall open a state-of-the-art assembling unit in Srinagar to cater to its rising clientele in the Valley.
Announcing this at a business meet-cum-seminar on Power Generation at a local hotel here, company Vice President and Regional Head Nitin Gupta said: “Besides serving our customers, the unit will be helpful in employment generation for the skilled people in Kashmir.”
The seminar was jointly organised by Pune-based Cummins India and Sudhir Gensets Limited.
“We can’t fix the timeline but we will discuss the proposal of the unit with our seniors along with the deliberation we gathered from here,” Gupta added.
Sudhir Gensets has recently appointed a local firm J K Trading as its dealer for Kashmir & Leh.
Vinay Mahajan General Manager Technical Cummins India Limited and Regional General Manager Vivek Upadhyay briefed about the Cummins products and highlights their benefits and features.
“Cummins an American company has latest technology in Generator and has the biggest Sales & Service network across India,” Mahajan said.
During an interaction session the customers raised various queries, gave their feedback about the usage and efficiency of the products.
“We face many problems because there is no overhauling facility in the Valley,” a representative from SKIMS Soura Muhammad Shafi said.
President, Federation of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) Mushtaq Malik said there should be proper servicing facilities in Srinagar to cater to the growing need of customers.
Among others Vinay Agnohotri and Shivendra Nath from Cummins India, Rakesh Gupta and J. S. Bali from Sudhir Gensets, Javid Ashai and Mujeeb Kent from J K Trading, and Prashant Luthra from PAL Engineers who are the authorised service dealer of Cummins India Ltd were present on the occasion.
