3 die, 9 hurt in mishaps

Bandipora/Srinagar, Nov 1: Three persons were killed and nine others wounded in separate road accidents across the Kashmir.
Two persons were killed and five others injured in two separate accidents in North Kashmir’s Bandipore district.
Giving details, Superintendent of Police Bandipore, Bashir Ahmad Khan said, two persons were killed and two others injured when a Sumo they were travelling in met with a road accident near Danni Nallah on Gurez-Tulail road. “We are trying to get more details.” Khan said.
In another accident, three persons sustained injuries when an oil tanker bearing registration number (JK02D-5985) they were travelling in met with an accident near Shilvat on the Srinagar-Leh Highway in Bandipore district.
Police has identified the injured as Israel Ansari, Shafat Ansari and Murshid Ansari of Dholak Jharkhand. The injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospital where the condition of Israel Ansari is stated to be critical.
Meanwhile, according to police spokesman in Srinagar, Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar of Wagad fell down from a moving Tipper bearing registration number (JK14-8874) at Wagad Tral, resulting in his on the spot death. Police has registered a case in this regard, he said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, four persons were wounded when a mini bus bearing registration number (JK05-7211) they were travelling in skidded off the road at Markandan Sumbal, Bandipora, he said adding the wounded had been hospitalized and a case registered in this regard.
10 DRUG PEDDLERS HELD
Police has apprehended 10 drug peddlers, recovering over 400 bottles of Codeine and over 1200 tablets of Spasmo Peroxiyan from their possession at Zakoora here.
According to the police spokesman, acting on a specific information, policemen apprehended Khalid Ahmad Wani of Zakoora and on his disclosure, subsequent recoveries were made from nine other accused including, Qaiser Maqbool Bhat of Chattabal, Javaid Ahmad Wani of Daultabad Nowpora, Sajjad Ahmad Ashai of Pathar Masjid, Nissar Ahmad Bhat of Rainawari, Muhammad Yusuf Mir of Palpora Sonwar, Tauseef Aziz alias Suhail Kachru of Chattabal, Parvez Ahmad Mir of Awantbhawan Soura, Muneer Ahmad Zargar alias Kaka Bengali of Bota Kadal Lal Bazaar and Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Killa of Dhobi Ghat Hazratbal. Further recoveries are also expected from them, he added.
