Gen Nandal takes over as GOC 16 Corps

Jammu, Nov 1: Lieutenant General A S Nandal on Tuesday took over as new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu based 16 Corps known as White Knight Corps-- the largest Corps in the Indian Army.
At a simple function held at Corps headquarters at Nagrota, Lt Gen J P Nehra handed over the baton to the new GOC. Gen Nehra was shifted to Army Headquarters.
Lt Gen Nandal, who was posted as Additional Director General at the Chief of Army Staff Secretariat, Army Headquarters Delhi, has earned the distinction of being the 25th GOC of the White Knight Corps.
He is a second generation Army officer. He has a varied operational experience of serving in both J&K and North East. Amongst his earlier stints in the J&K State are important assignments of Commander 1 Sector RR in 2004-05 and GOC Victor Force from March 2009 to July 2010.
