‘Christians our brothers’
Srinagar, Nov 21: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday said that Christians putting up in the valley shouldn’t feel scared with the campaign against apostasy.
“Our campaign is not against any religion including Christianity but we want to prevent apostasy in valley that has been spreading through different NGOs in the name of peace building and reconciliation,” he said.
He cautioned the people against the ‘agency war’ that is ‘spreading misinformation’ about the campaign.
Mirwaiz said Christians ‘are part of our society and we ensure their safety.’
“We don’t have any anguish or grudge against the Christians living here. They are our brothers but an individual case of pastor Khanna has shocked us,” he said. “Everyone has the right to preach their religion, but through legal ways.”
