JK as safe for investment as other states: Slathia
Invites business tycoons to state

Jammu, Nov 22: Maintaining that “improving situation” has thrown open ample opportunities for entrepreneurship in J&K, Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia today asked the business tycoons of the country to come forward and invest in the state that according to him would be a “great contribution in reconstruction of infrastructure in turmoil ravaged state.”
Speaking at a gathering after inaugurating a private sector Jewelry showroom at Vijaypur this morning, Slathia said that J&K is fast on path of peace and development and is as safe for investment as other states of the country.
He said that the government was providing most attractive industrial package to the investors under both central and state industrial policies which are likely to be extended for another two years beyond 2012, the scheduled date for its expiry.
He asked the educated youth and entrepreneurs to take full benefits of the available industrial incentives and venture in the industrial sector for earning a dignified livelihood. “This way youth can become job providers rather than job seekers”, Slathia added.
The Minister said that government was endeavouring hard to create job opportunities for the youth in public sector but keeping in view the burgeoning number of 7 lakh educated un-employed youth, registered with various employment and counselling centres of the state, it was imperative to promote self employment programmes adding that SKEWPY is the best ever employment policy ever launched in the state.
