Urs of Hazrat Bulbul Shah on November 24, 25
Srinagar, Nov 22: The Urs Sharief of Hazrat Bulbul Shah whose shrine is located at Tosamaidan hills, where he had temporarily stayed during his life time, is being celebrated on November 24 and 25 with traditional fervour.
The Imam and Khatib of Jama Masjid located at Sitaharan in Tosamaidan hills, Moulana Maqbool, has intimated that as per the annual tradition the people of the vicinity particularly from Razemarg, Beerwah, Khag, Arizal and other adjacent areas stay for night to participate in Shab-i-Khawani during Urs days and seek blessings of the revered saint.
Khwaja Renzushah, who is the Chairman of the Shrine and Masjid Intizamia, in his message, has felicitated people of the area on urs. He said the people of Kashmir are greatly indebted to the saints and Awlia kiram, who he said have enlightened the kashmiri society teaching truth, love and brotherhood.
Their teachings, he said have helped to evolve a unique cultural ethos based on the concept of equality, faith and universal brotherhood. He said the need of the hour is to enlighten the younger generations about their teachings to carry forward the traditions in the interest of society and humanity at large. He said the saints have not only spiritualized the society but also taught dignity of labour.
Renzushah said that Kashmir is also known world over for its pluralist ethos and visionary outlook. It has achieved this distinction due to the sufi culture nurtured by the great saints and Awliakiram from time to time in all ages.
Mirwaiz Wasti Moulana Alama Latief and Khateeb of Jama Masjid of Beerwah will also address the congregation to enlighten the devotees about the contribution of the saint.
