DDC suspends medico

Pulwama, Nov 25: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Shafat Noor today placed a government doctor under suspension.
Earlier, the doctor was caught by police while allegedly doing private practice at a USG clinic in nearby district of Shopian. Station House Officer Shopian, Javaid Ahmad told Greater Kashmir that on specific information, police raided Khansa Ultrasound Clinic in the town, where the medico, posted at district hospital Pulwama was engaged in private practice during duty hours. The SHO said authorities including DDCs at Pulwama and Shopian besides CMO Pulwama were informed about the raid on the clinic for investigation of the case. The SHO added that no arrest was made from the spot as the matter was not cognizable for police.
However, the SHO said the owner of the clinic had been asked not to open the centre till further orders.
Immediately after the incident, authorities at Pulwama rushed a team of officers to district hospital where the doctor was found absent. The Deputy Commissioner later order suspension of the doctor and sought detailed inquiry into the matter.
When contacted, the doctor claimed that he was on night off and was also asked to attend Court on Thursday. The doctor also pleaded ignorance about police raid on Khansa clinic at Shopian.
