‘Implement recommendations in letter and spirit’
Sringar, Nov 26: Welcoming the recommendations of magisterial enquiry, the duped Hajj aspirants have demanded its immediate implementation.
“The government should implement the recommendation in letter and spirit and compensate our loss,” a victim of Hajeej ‘fraud’ Abdul Hamid Lone, told GK.
Another victim Tariq Ahmad demanded the implementation on war footing basis. “The confiscation and latter auction isn’t an easy task. There might be political or legal hurdles. So government must keep it in consideration and complete the process in a time bound manner,” he added.
A tour operator from Ganderbal, Abdul Aziz, whom the Hajeej owner had sub-let 34 seats, said that the ‘fraud’ has cost him dearly. “I lost credibility in my area. My firm had paid Rs 64 lakhs to Hajeej for 34 seats. I want money to the Hajj aspirants should be paid back without any delay,” he demanded.
