Court reserves Pastor's bail plea
Srinagar, Nov 29: A Court on Tuesday reserved its orders on a bail application filed by an accused in the “conversion row”.
The Court of First Additional Sessions Judge Srinagar reserved orders on bail application filed by Pastor of a local church, CM Khanna last week in the alleged conversion row.
Earlier a group of young lawyers filed a Suo-moto application in the Court seeking permission to support the prosecution on the application. Today seven of them argued with the prosecution after receiving permission from the Court.“The video tape that showed youth baptized by the accused pastor carry blasphemous words that go against the culture of religious harmony of the state,” they argued.
“It will also send a wrong message in the society about the unique fabric of the society we are living in. So the accused doesn’t deserve bail in the case,” they pleaded.
