Kargil boys hostel to be completed in Jan: Akhoon
Jammu, Nov 29: The 5-story new Boys Hostel for Kargil students at Channi Rama here will be thrown open for accommodation in January next year, said Minister for Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution and Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon, during his inspection of complex.
Akhoon said finishing work of the hostel complex was at the final stage. He said 230 students pursuing higher education in Jammu educational institutions would be accommodated in this hostel, adding the complex had all basic facilities which include 78 bed rooms, three community halls, library room besides kitchen and dining facilities.
The Minister said providing hassle-free accommodation facilities to the students of far off areas of the state was given focussed attention, adding the government had already taken initiatives for execution of hostels for the students of such areas. He said construction of Boys Hostel Kargil was the endeavour of the government in that direction. He said the hostel would facilitate the students of Kargil for pursuing their higher education.
