Strengthen coalition ties: Slathia, Rana to workers

Jammu, Nov 29: Minister for Industries, Surjeet Singh Slathia and Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Devender Singh Rana Tuesday emphasized the need of strengthening coalition ties between National Conference and Congress to achieve ‘peace and prosperity’ for all regions and sub-regions of the State.
They asked the NC workers to play role and ensure working of the two political parties in a unified manner to address the public grievances.
Addressing one-day convention of NC workers of District Jammu Urban here today Salathia said that history bears testimony to the people’s-friendly, policies nurtured by the NC.
He said the NC symbolizes the State’s unity, amity and brotherhood. “NC has always kept public cause dearer to it and its rank and file always worked for the welfare and upliftment of the people of the State especially belonging to weaker sections and living in far-flung areas,” he added.
In his speech, Rana asked the NC workers to act as a bridge between the people and the government and disseminate the public-friendly initiatives taken by the Omar-led Government during last three years in the State. He told them to make people aware of the major historic decisions of Omar Abdullah government aimed at empowering people at grass roots.
Rana asked the workers to play their role in getting pubic grievances redressed at the political and administrative levels and ensuring the benefits of new initiatives taken by the government reach to the people in every area.
“You represent aspiration of the people and your support is overwhelming in all the three regions of the State”, he told them asking for strengthening coalition ties with Congress to make development programmes and policies of the coalition a success.
