Not correct

This refers to the Chief Minister’s statement that his government is committed to removal of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) from certain areas of the state. I agree with Omar that the move is no reflection on the role of the Army in Jammu and Kashmir. There is no point for anyone to get annoyed because of the move. The Chief Minister is right that removal of AFSPA is in no way an effort to undermine the role of the Army which essentially is playing a major role in the anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir. There is an impression being created that the state government and the Army are working on a divergent path, which is not correct. Let both the agencies be on board and get the Act lifted from areas where situation has returned to normal.
