2 Ward Officers die in a day
Demises condoled

Srinagar, Nov 5: Call it fate or coincidence but the Srinagar Municipal Corporation lost two of its Ward Officers in a day Saturday. While one of them, who was injured in a road mishap Friday succumbed to injuries, the other one is believed to have died under mysterious circumstances.
The SMC officials said Ward Officer, Azad Ahmed Zargar of Ahmeda Kadal died under mysterious circumstances as his body was recovered from near Badamwari. Police has filed a case and investigations are going on.
As about the other incident, Farooq Ahmed Khan of Tangmarg who was wounded yesterday in a mishap near HMT breathed his last at hospital.
The duo was laid to rest at their respective family graveyards while the SMC employees including senior officials attended the funeral processions.
Meanwhile, the SMC officials including Commissioner Sheikh Mushtaq have condoled the demises and prayed for peace to the departed souls. Former Mayor Salman Ali Sagar also condoled the demises and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
Pertinently, around a fortnight back another Ward Officer, Altaf Ahmed Qazi died when compound wall collapsed on him at Buchpora near his residence.
