Police arrest burglars in Kupwara

Srinagar, Nov 5: Police today claimed to have busted a gang of burglars who used to steel cable and electric wire in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
 A police spokesman in a statement said Kupwara police busted a gang of burglars by arresting Nazir Ahmad Mochi, Tanveer Ahmad Najar, both residents of Sulkoot and Muneer Ahmad Bhat of Keran, at present Sulkoo employee of Forest Department and recovered stolen cable and electric wires from their possession.
 The statement said another person Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat of Vodipora, Kupwara a copper smith who used to receive stolen property was also arrested.
 “Several cases of burglary were solved with arrest of the gang members. The group used to recce the target in advance and in night used to commit burglary of cable wire by using Hexa blade. Later they used to sell the stolen items in market on cheaper rates,” the statement added.
