SVC bill passed in LA

Srinagar, Sep 30: The Legislative Assembly Friday passed the bill to facilitate constitution of the State Vigilance Commission.
A bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission Act-2011 was introduced in the House by Minister of Finance Abdur Rahim Rather on Thursday.
Rather said the aim of bringing the bill “is to widen its efficacy and bring it at par with the Central Vigilance Commission Act.”
“The Act will prove useful for ensuring good governance and corruption-free public services delivery system,” Rather said.
An official spokesman said earlier legislators Mir Saifullah, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Harshdev Singh moved amendments to the Act which were not considered by the House.
