Withdraw Disturbed Areas Act: Tarigami
Srinagar, Sep 30: CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami today strongly advocated withdrawal of Disturbed Area Act from those areas where security scenario has improved considerably in the State.
Raising the point after the Question Hour in the House, Tarigami said several Committees and delegations had recommended withdrawal of this Act from the areas where the law and order had shown significant improvement, maintaining that the State government should accordingly denotify those parts and withdrew the Act.
“The situation is quite conducive for taking such initiatives so as to provide relief to the people. Both the governments at Centre and Sate must not miss this opportunity and rather seize this for taking fresh initiatives,” he said.
CONDUCT INQUIRY INTO CROSS VOTING
CPI (M) Legislator, M Y Tarigami today demanded enquiry into cross voting incident of Legislative Council polls to ascertain who are involved and who have benefited in the “shoddy deal.”
