Himachal humbles JK by 123 runs

Srinagar Oct 9: The Inter-State Women’s Cricket Tournament began on Sunday with Haryana and Himachal Pradesh registering emphatic wins.
Hosts Jammu and Kashmir got drubbing by 123 runs at the hands of Himachal Pradesh at SK Cricket Stadium while as Haryana defeated Delhi by eight wickets at Kashmir University Ground on the inaugural day today of the 50-over One Day tournament.
In the first match at SK Cricket Stadium, J&K won the toss and they put Himachal Pradesh in the middle for bat. Himachal amassed 195 runs while losing all their wickets in 45th over of the match. AC Negi hit 59 while as TD Raj scored 32 runs. For J&K, SR Jammal claimed six wickets.
In reply, J&K team succumbed only on 72 runs in 24th over to suffer a heavy defeat. Opening batswoman R S Jamwal could show some semblance of resistance scoring 14 runs. Nusrat Sheikh scored 13 runs. For Himachal T D Raj scalped five wickets while as S H Negi claimed two.
In the second match at Kashmir University Ground, Deli was bundled out on 85 runs only in 41st over.
Kajol Batia scored 22 runs. From Haryana Shiva Prajapati claimed four wickets.
Haryana achieved the target in 26th over only while losing their two wickets. Ritu Saini scored 23 runs while as Nisia contributed 20 runs. For Delhi Sony Yadaw and Pankal claimed one wicket each. The tournament features five teams of the North Zone which include Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and J&K. This is for the first time that Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association is hosting a series of national level tournaments in the State. JKCA has put up four camera set up at each venue to record the match live and for occasional reviews of the on field umpire decisions.
