Srinagar, Oct 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged the National Conference workers to reach out at the grass root level and become a bridge between the people and the coalition government.
Omar, who was addressing a meeting of District Presidents of the Kashmir province here today, said that National Conference is a cadre based party and the party workers need to activate themselves to ensure that the message and the achievements of the coalition government reach the grass root level and the government in turn gets regular, credible feedback from ground zero.
 Chief Minister said that the National Conference–Congress government is committed to the holistic and equitable development of the state and also the welfare of the people of the state and to this end the National Conference workers should play a major role in making the government aware of the needs of the people.
 Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, Additional General Secretary of J&K National Conference, while addressing the meeting congratulated the Chief Minister on the peaceful summer, unprecedented tourist flow and accelerated pace of development which the state has witnessed under his leadership and assured the Chief Minister of the party’s wholehearted support to strengthen the coalition government.
 Ali Mohammad Dar, Provincial President of the party, urged the District Presidents to prepare themselves for the forthcoming party elections and suggested various measures to strengthen the party at the block level, district level and the zonal level.
 Among others who were present in the meeting included Sakina Itoo, Minister for Social Welfare, Devender Singh Rana, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Mir Saifullah, Khazar Muhammad Dev, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Akbar Ganai, Shabir Ahmed Kulley, Nazir Ahmed Niloora, Muhammad Shafi Shaheen and Abdul Rehman Mir.
