India’s statement at UN unrealistic: Geelani
Srinagar, Oct 12: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday sharply reacted to the statement of Indian representative at UN Permanent Mission, R Ravindra, about Kashmir, terming it ‘unrealistic and Himalayan like big lie’.
Addressing advisory council meeting of amalgam today here, Geelani said, “Kashmir is a dispute and has to be resolved. Kashmir is the only place in the world with the highest military concentration.”
Geelani alleged that since 1947 there had never been free and fair elections in Jammu Kashmir. “Although assembly elections have no bearing on the disputed status of JK, but the R Ravindra’s statement in the UN should serve as an eye-opener for whole Kashmiri nation. People should understand how New Delhi is trying to mislead the international community by highlighting the elections,” he said.
