Bilal Colony residents complain of drinking water scarcity
Srinagar, Oct 13: The residents of Abu Bakar Lane, Bilal Colony Zakoora on the outskirts of Srinagar have complained of acute shortage of drinking water in the area.
The residents allege that the PHE Department is inconsiderately providing new water connections in the area even to the plots where houses have not been constructed yet. They complain that an influential builder who is constructing new houses in the area has got water connections for scores of under-construction houses using potable water for construction purposes.
The residents alleged that the reckless misuse of potable water in the area had resulted in acute shortage of drinking water.
They have urged the PHE department to first see the feasibility or upgrade the pipelines before issuing new connections.
