Mehbooba denounces
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti has strongly condemned the attack on senior lawyer, Prashant Bhushan, demanding stringent action against the culprits involved in the incident.
Mehbooba said “broad day assault on Prashant, a senior advocate and human rights activist in his chamber was undemocratic and highly condemnable act which had to be disapproved by any one believing in freedom of speech and democratic values.”
Mehbooba said the right to express ones views was a fundamental right in the democracy and any attempt to curb it through illegal and strong arm methods was fascist and undemocratic.
She Prashant had expressed his views on Kashmir in a peaceful, civilized and democratic manner. “The intolerance shown by the attackers is against the spirit of the democracy and civilized society. Any views on Kashmir should not be treated a taboo.”
