Geelani demands action against Baderwah Professor
Srinagar, Oct 14: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Friday demanded legal action and transfer of the history professor of Baderwah College who while delivering a lecture in the class had mentioned something wrong over historical background of Muslims which students objected to it.
“Words of professor have hurt the sentiments of Muslims. He should be transferred immediately and strict action should be taken against him,” a local news agency quoted Geelani as having said.
“The statement of Deputy Commissioner Doda over the issue is surprising. He (DC) should know the facts first before making any statement,” he added.
Geelani urged the people of Baderwah to protest against the incident peacefully.
