Preponing of flights creates mess

Jammu, Oct 18: Hundreds of intending pilgrims proceeding for Hajj are facing tremendous problems due to the mess created by pre-scheduling of flights.
“We reached Srinagar last night and were supposed to receive our documents in the morning”, said Abdul Haimd, accompanying a pilgrim from Kishtwar area. “However, immediately after our arrival we were told that instead of October 19 the flight has been preponed for October 18”
The pilgrims and those accompanying them alleged that there was complete chaos at the Hajj House and they had to struggle to get their travel documents.
Some of the pilgrims even alleged that none of the officials in Srinagar Hajj House were ready to take responsibility for their accommodation.
“Hundreds of pilgrims from Jammu region are performing Hajj this year. However, instead of making an arrangement for their Jammu-Delhi flight the pilgrims have been forced to travel hundreds of kilometers on road before taking a flight to Delhi from Srinagar,” said a Hajj aspirant.
Despite repeated attempts officials of Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee did not respond.
