Wani inspects pace of work on Sidhra Golf Course
Jammu, Oct 18: Minister of state for Home, Tourism and Culture, Nassir Aslam Wani on Tuesday inspected the pace of work on the prestigious 18 holes Golf Course coming up here at Sidhra.
The first phase, comprising 9 holes, of the 18-Hole Golf Course of international standard being laid at a cost of Rs.44 crore is already complete.
The minister took stock of the work on the back 9 holes and also inspected the site construction of Golf Club building, the work on which has been taken up and the work on foundation trench cutting is in full swing. The Minister asked the concerned authorities to ensure better maintenance of the landscape, besides expediting the pace of work on the left of works. He gave instructions for speedy completion of the back 10-18 holes by the end of financial year 2011-12. The minister desired that the pace of progress on the club building be expedited and said that he will personally monitor the pace of work by visiting the site on regular intervals.
The minister underscored the need for proper and regular irrigation of the greenery and ornamental plants, already planted around the Course. He directed the concerned authorities to make arrangements for adequate irrigation and power supply for the Golf Course.
Deputy Director Tourism (Planning), Jammu Tarsaim Kumar, Assistant Director Tourism (M&W), Ayub Wani and other technical staff accompanied the minister during his visit to the site.
