Work for unity in society: JKMPLB to religious scholars

Srinagar, Oct 18: J&K Muslim Personal Law Board has appealed to the religious scholars to work for the unity among all sections of the society.
 In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Mufti Azam, Mufti Muhammad Bashir-ud-Din Ahmed Farooqi, the participants observed with concern that some unscrupulous elements have been spreading misinformation campaign against the scholars and their religious congregations who are reviewing the sacred teachings of Awliyaie Kiraam.
 The meeting appealed to these elements to desist from such a campaign so that these congregations are not affected negatively. The meeting observed that every individual has a right to follow his sectarian teachings and appealed religious scholars to promote harmony and brotherhood.
 “The scholars of Hanfi sect should have the freedom, as others have, to conduct ijtimaas which have been conducted over decades and where scholars disseminate the information about Quran and Sunnah to build character and virtue among the followers.”
