Refrain from promoting Maslaki confusion: Geelani to Muslims

Srinagar, Oct 1: The Hurriyat Conference (G) has appealed to all the Muslims to stay united on fundamental beliefs of Islam and refrain from promoting confusion among themselves on Maslaki, Feqihi and sectarian grounds.
“Indulging in the polemics on the matters of secondary importance is detrimental to the interest of Islam and ongoing freedom struggle. It will not only damage the image of Muslims of state, but will also help New Delhi strengthen its control. The imperialistic powers have always been trying to involve and engage the Muslims in Maslaki and other frivolous matters to create wedge in their unity, weaken and enslave them,” said Geelani in a statement, adding “We are in the filed of struggle for freedom for the past 64-years during which we offered supreme sacrifices of lakhs of people. New Delhi is trying its every weapon of coercion to weaken our resolve and till date failed to achieve this objective. Now it has resorted to other diabolic means like involving people in Maslaki and other matters of secondary importance to create wedge in their unity. But we need to be enough vigilant and cautious to scuttle its nefarious designs.”
Geelani claimed that the New Delhi policy makers had “purchased the loyalty of army of Moulvis who are assigned the job of involving gullible Muslims in Maslaki differences and other matters of secondary matters to create confusion and disunity among them.” “If the situation is not controlled at this juncture only, it will engulf whole Valley in the flames of Maslaki war,” he said.
Meanwhile, a high level delegation of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat visited Palpora Noorbagh here where some days ago some misunderstanding had taken place among of the people of the locality. The leaders on the occasion appealed to the locals to bury the hatchet and maintain unity among their ranks.
