GPC Aloochi Bagh delegation calls on Raman Balla
Srinagar, Oct 21: A delegation of Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Aloochi Bagh, led by its president S Jeet Singh called on the minister for revenue, relief and rehabilitation, Raman Balla, in connection with the construction of Community Hall in the locality for Sikh community.
In a statement today, a spokesman of the Committee said a large number of people belonging to Sikh community were residing in the area and that there was a dire need of a Community Hall where they could perform their social and cultural activities.
The minister on the occasion telephonically directed the development commissioner, Srinagar, to identify the land in the locality for the construction of Community Hall. The engineering department was also directed to frame the project.
The proposed construction of the slaughter house in the locality also came up for discussion and the delegation apprised the minister about its health hazards and resentment of locals on this count. The members demanded immediate shelving of the proposal.
The minister, according to the statement, assured the delegation that all the demands would be fulfilled within the shortest possible time.
Besides S Jeet Singh, the delegation comprised S Nidhan Singh, S Rajpal Singh, S Novtaj Singh and S Joginder Singh.
