Ferozpora Nallah turns into garbage dump; authorities indifferent
GK NEWS NETWORK
Tangmarg, Oct 23: The inhabitants of Tangmarg have complained that Nallah Ferozpora has been turned into garbage dump with locals disposing off waste into it. According to the residents, the people residing near the Nallah are throwing garbage and other waste material into it everyday and the concerned municipal committee officials were turning blind eye towards the issue.
“The dumping site emanates foul smell causing immense hardships to the passerby and shopkeepers,” the locals told Greater Kashmir.
The residents said that despite apprising the officials about the pathetic condition of Nallah, they failed to do anything substantial. “The government hasn’t taken any measure to clean the Nallah,” the residents said. According to the residents, the Nallah water, which few years ago was used for drinking purposes, has been polluted.
The residents urged the senior functionaries in the administration to take immediate action in this regard.
