Rampant corruption

This refers to rampant corruption in J&K. Every now and then we see instances of corruption in the state administration. Despite so many anti-graft bodies in place, the menace is not curbed. Who will address this problem is a bigger question. Corruption impedes growth of a nation as has been the case with Kashmir. For the past many years we are not able to progress because the public money is swindled. Funds meant to be utilized under the centrally sponsored schemes are not utilized properly. The benefits of these schemes don’t reach the real beneficiaries. The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah must crack down on officials who are found involved in corruption. Let the deadwood also be removed from the state administration for effective governance. There are people who face problems in getting their works done because of corruption. Officials openly ask for money to get these works done. So it is better if the Government gets serious and addressed the problem before it is too late. Already the state has faced a lot of embarrassment on this front. Let Government curb the problem now.
