Water woes in Bijbehara

Srinagar, Oct 23: The residents of Dewra Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district have complained about acute shortage of water from the last four days. A delegation from the area told Greater Kashmir that the inhabitants had to travel three kilometers to fetch the water from a tube well. “The officials of Public Health Engineering department told us that the water shortage was due to the leakage in pipes,” the residents said. They said the water tankers dispatched by the department were insufficient to cater to the needs of the people.  The inhabitants urged the senior functionaries of the PHE department to take immediate action in this regard and restore the water supply at an earliest.
