Ansari rejoins Hurriyat (M)
Srinagar, Oct 24: In a significant development, suspended Hurriyat (M) constituent Ittehadul Muslimeen (IuM) rejoined the conglomerate on Monday.
Sources told Greater Kashmir, the IUM patron Abbas Ansari, turned up at the meet at Hurriyat headquarters here and joined the deliberations.
Pertinently, IuM was suspended from the executive body of the amalgam on April 20 this year, after meeting of its patron Abbas Ansari with three member panel of interlocutors appointed by New Delhi to hold discussions with different shades of opinion in JK.
When contacted, IuM patron, Moulana Abbas Ansari said, “I never left Hurriyat. I have been its member since its foundation and will remain in it forever,” he said.
After suspending them, Hurriyat (M) had constituted a two-member panel comprising Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and Aga Syed Hassan, to look into the issue. Following their recommendations, suspension of the party was revoked, but Ansari didn’t join back.
Sources said after Ansari showed reluctance on rejoining, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and Bilal Gani Lone were asked by the amalgam to hold deliberations with him following which Ansari decided to join back the conglomerate.
