Wholesalers, retailers announce discount on Eid

Srinagar, Oct 24: To ensure availability of essentials and regulate their prices in run up to the Eid-ul-Azha, a meeting of the officers of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution was held with its director, A W Tak in chair.
 According to a CAPD spokesman, the meeting was also attended by representatives of various traders’ associations.
 The meeting unanimously decided that wholesale Kirana dealers will give one per cent discount while the retailers will give two per cent discount.
 The meeting also decided that vegetable vendors will provide five per cent discount on retail.
 He said four market checking teams were constituted to check the over charging, adding a control room was also established which would function from November 1. The numbers of the control room are: 9797020980, 4555214 and 248127.
