Congress ask NC to rein in Kamal

PTI/GKNN

Jammu, Oct 27: The National Conference leadership should take immediate action against its leader and chief spokesman Mustafa Kamal for his repeated acts of "omission and commission", state Congress said today.
"The NC leadership should take immediate action against him for his repeated acts of omission and commission," Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice-president Mangat Ram Sharma said.
"Mustafa Kamal, senior NC leader, is in the habit of issuing highly irresponsible and objectionable statements, against the Congress party and central government," he said.
He said these(comments) have been ignored in the past in the interest of the Coalition.
His statements are not only irresponsible but also politically motivated, he said.
Meanwhile, a meeting of senior Congress leaders from Jammu was held here in which they stressed upon NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to restrain Kamal from issuing statements which are detrimental to national interest and were aimed at weakening Coalition.
They accused Kamal of issuing what they term cheap statements with a view to defame the armed forces. The leaders were of the opinion that armed forces have done a commendable job in fighting insurgency and restoring normalcy in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was presided over by Former Minister and President DCC Rural Suman Lata Bhagat where as AICC Member and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil was also present as a special invitee.
