Civil Engineering team defeats MBA deptt
IUST VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES
Srinagar, Oct. 28: B. Tech Civil Engineering team defeated MBA team in the final of Inter-Departmental Volleyball tournament organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST).
The event was held at the Varsity campus ground. Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment Abdul Gani Malik, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The minister impressed upon the students to actively participate in extracurricular activities, especially sports, besides studying hard. He also said that Government was conscious of the needs of the University, especially for infrastructure development and promised full support.
He advised the University authorities to provide necessary facilities to the students for their participation in sports events at State and National level. Malik lauded the players for display of skills and team spirit during the match.
Vice Chancellor IUST Prof A R Trag welcomed the chief guest and expressed that he has been extending all support to the University at different levels in the government. Quoting an example, Dr Trag said that establishment of Polytechnic College at the University campus in coming time will be a great contribution of the minister to the public in general and the University in particular.
The minister distributed trophies among the winner and runner up teams.
Director, Physical Education Prof. KA Tarzan thanked all the guests and spectators for their valuable time and support in making the event successful.
