18th State Thang-Ta Championship begins
Srinagar, Oct 2: The 18th State Thang-Ta martial art championship started at Govt, Degree College Nawa Kadal here on Saturday.
On the inaugural day competitions of girls section was held in different weight and age categories.
The day started with competitions of sub-junior girls 29-kilogram category in which Fiza Nazir, Zarka Manzoor, Fance bagged first three positions while in 33-kilogram category Noha Manzoor, Faika, Ruby Mehra bagged first three positions respectively.
In 37-kilogram category Touseefa Gulzar, Zulykha Majeed,Sheetal Digra bagged first three positions while 41-kilogram category Iqra Altaf , Shahnaz, Insha Lateef bagged first three positions respectively.
In 45-kilogram category Qurat-ul-Ain, Pooja Devi,Mariya Javid bagged first three positions while 49-kilogram category Atira, Nazish, Rukhsana bagged first three positions while in 53-kilogram category Nuseat Altaf, Sabreena Farooq and Humaira Ayoub bagged first three positions.
In junior girl’s 44-kilogram category Poonama Devi, Bilqis Jan and Sahiba Jan bagged first three positions while 48-kilogram category Safia Manzoor, Taiba and Rutba bagged first three positions.
In 48-kilogram category Kavita Devi, Abra and Bisma bagged first three positions while 52-kilogram category Saima Jan, Azra and Nazish bagged first three positions. In 56-kilogram category Nishea Thakur, Iram and Ruqaya bagged first three positions respectively while in 60-kilogram category Rafiya Jan, Rafiqa Altaf and Arooba baged first6, second and third places respectively.
In 60-kilogram category Aaliya Rashid and Anjuman Nisar bagged first two positions while in 65-kilogram category Asnat Jan, Nighat Rashid and Parveen bagged first three positions. In 70-kilogram category Nowreena, Afra and Insha Qayoom bagged first three positions.
In senior girls 50-kilogram category Amina Mehraj,Foziya Majeed and Nishu Devi bagged first three positions while 60-kilogram category Hafeeza Akhtar, Seerat Qayoom and Fizhat Rafiq bagged first three positions respectably.
In 54-kilogram category Hafsa Handoo,Iqra Hafeez bagged first two positions while 54 –kilogram style 2nd category Rabiya Bashir,Muzamil bagged first three positions respectively.
In 58-kilogram category Arbeena Yousef and Yasmeen Majeed bagged first two positions respectively while in 58-kilogram style second category Safeena Nabi and Toiba Ishtiyaq bagged first two positions .
In 62-kilogram category Farhana Farid, Shah Aneesa and Nusratulnisa bagged first three positions while 66-kilogram category Ishrat Rafiq, Fahmeeda and Gul Surkhab bagged first three positions. In 70-kilogram category Saimana Gul and Sehrish bagged first two positions while in 75-kilogram category Arjumand Farooq,Mudasir Bashir and Kulsum bagged first three positions respectively.
In open senior girl’s category Asiya Mehraj and Mosmi Pandita bagged first two positions respectably. The girls champion of the champion title was won by Anjumand Farooq.
The event is being organised by J&K Thang-Ta Association and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
