Dissolve JK govt: ANC
Srinagar, Oct 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference has demanded dissolution of the Omar Abdullah led coalition government alleging that it had totally failed to protect the lives and honour of the people of the State and was mired in corruption.
Commenting on the death of National Conference activist, Muhammad Yousuf, ANC senior vice-president, Muzzaffar Shah while addressing a news conference said, “The Chief Minister and the MoS seem apparently involved in the abetment of the crime. A meaningful probe cannot proceed against the persons involved, unless they are made to step aside from the scene as the entire law and order machinery is under their command and control.”
Muzzaffar Shah expressed dismay and anguish saying “As to what is preventing the immediate arrest of Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, Chief Minister’s constituency in charge of Ganderbal and Abdul Salam Reshi of Kokernag who had admittedly confessed to their involvement in the cash for MLC/Ministerial birth scam of the current coalition government."
“The mere fact of suspending five members of his security staff, the Chief Minister, Prima Facia has admitted to the crime that has taken place in his presence,” he added.
Muzaffar said he was shortly meeting the State Governor and apprise him of the “pugnacious ruminations of the event which could snow ball into a major unrest in the valley.” He stated that a retired Judge of the Supreme Court may be asked to conduct a thorough probe within a time frame.
Commenting upon the silence being maintained by the Congress on this issue and many other allied issues, he said, “The credibility of the organization is taking a beating which they will realize when coming face to face with the people of the State in the coming times,”
