Army organizes seminar on drug abuse

Srinagar: The Army under the aegis of Victor Force organised a drug awareness workshop highlighting the ill-effects of drug and substance in Village Sotur, Block Tral on Friday.  According to a defence communiqué the aim of f organising the workshop was to impress upon the youth the extremely detrimental effect that prolonged substance abuse has on the physical and mental well-being.  “The workshop also brought out the way in which a drug abuser becomes a burden on both his family and the society he lives in. The legal aspects of drug abuse were also be highlighted. Alongwith the drug awareness workshop, the Army also assisted the local medical authorities in improving the rural health infrastructure. As part of this effort, medical instruments and items were distributed to the Health Centre of Arapal village thereby fulfilling a much required need of the locals,” the statement added. (KNS)
