‘Hanga te Manga’ staged in Budgam
Srinagar, Oct 30: National Bhand Theatre Sunday staged the play ‘Hanga te Manga’ in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to a communiqué, this was Natrang Bhand Theatres and Sangeet Natak Akademi’s 14th show of the ongoing series.
The play written and directed by Shah-e-Jahan Ahmad Bhagat highlighted wildlife protection and forest conservation, the communiqué said.
“The play opens at a scene where the wildlife is shown merry-making enjoying their world to the fullest without any intervention of the outside world. The forests and the wildlife live for each other, complimenting and supplementing. Suddenly they are attacked by a mafia of timber smugglers who not only destroy the forest, but also kill the precious species for mere financial gains. The frightened wildlife run for shelters and find comfort in moving towards urban inhabitancy. This creates a chaos when civil population suffers series of attacks by the wild animals,” the play narrated.
“In a theatrical manner the wild animals blame the modern man for creating hell for them by destroying the forests. Thus leaving no safe space for them to live and they are left with no other option other than to find comforts in their cozy homes.”
