College teachers for CTA polls

Srinagar: The college teachers of Kashmir division have demanded holding of early elections of the presidium of College Teachers Association (CTA) as, according to them, the body last elected had completed its term and the fresh elections are due for the last two years.
In a communiqué to Election Commissioner CTA, Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, the members urged for restoration of constitutional status of CTA. It said, “In the absence of any representative body, the community is suffering on various fronts which have put their interests in jeopardy.”
“A signature campaign has already been launched for holding elections of CTA and the campaign is almost complete. Over 350 members have subscribed their signatures expressing their concern for delay in holding elections,” said Dr Fayaz Ahmad Nika.
