Tree Talk celebrates Golden Jubilee
Srinagar, Oct 3: Diamond Jubilee of popular Tree Talk programme was held in Nishat Garden and “focused on Wildlife and Wetland concerns confronting environmentalists and tree lovers”.
The talk was kickstarted in the presence of Chief Wildlife Warden A K Singh who “applauded journey of the campaign and appreciated eco-concerns undertaken by OP Sharma aka Vidyarthi.”
Floriculture Officer, Syed Imtiyaz Zaidi while outlining the historical background of the place said that Nishat Garden “was most famous Mughal Garden built by Nur Jahan’s elder brother Asif Khan in 1633-34.”
“Previously its terraces stretched upto Dal lake but road construction has reduced the terraces,” he added.
“Others who spoke on the occasion include Administrative Officer DPS Poonam Bhan, Nazir Benazir, Tassaduq Mueen and others, “ a host said.
