Bear kills minor
Srinagar, Oct 4: In yet another man-animal conflict, bears attacked and killed a boy and wounded a man in separate incidents in the Valley.
According to the police spokesman, a bear mauled to death a 9-year-old boy near Astan Mohalla Beerwah in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The spokesman identified the deceased as Muhammad Abass son of Muhammad Maqbool Magray of Iskandarpora Astan Mohalla. The body was handed over to the family for last rites, he added.
In another incident, a bear attacked and wounded a man at Hayar Dupatyar Bijbehara, in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
According to the spokesman, the wounded has been identified as Ghulam Muhammad Gani, 60, son of Ali Muhammad of Hayar Bijbehara, Islamabad (Anantnag).
