2 girls, woman killed in Valley
Srinagar, Oct 5: Two girls and a woman were killed in separate incidents across the Valley, police said on Wednesday.
According to police spokesman, Latief Ahmad Khan son of Habibullah of Hayatpora, Kunzar reported to the concerned police station that his daughter Amina, 30, who was at her uncle’s house at Hayatpora, had been allegedly murdered by strangulation. “Besides some gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone were also stolen from the house,” Latief told the police, the spokesman said adding the police had registered a case in this regard and investigation has been set into motion. According to the locals, the girl was to get married in coming days.
The spokesman said, a girl committed suicide by jumping into Jhelum near footbridge, Fateh Kadal here. The river police retrieved the body of the girl and handed it over to the family for last rites, he said adding a case had been registered.
In another incident, police recovered body of a woman from Sheraz Nallah at Chandoosa, Baramulla.
According to the spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Naseeba Begum wife of Ghulam Din Kateria of Bandi Balla. After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family for last rites, he said adding a case had been registered and investigation taken up under section 174 CrPC.
MAN KILLED IN MISHAP
A man was killed after a motorcycle collided with a Tata Sumo near Main Road Srigufwara, Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
According to the police spokesman, the motorcycle bearing registration number (DL6SX-8641) collided with the Sumo bearing registration number (JK013-5187) resulting in injuries to Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Muhammad Ismail and Gowhar Ahmad Shah son of Muhammad Maqbool of Khushri Kalan.
The duo was shifted to SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura for treatment, where the wounded Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh was declared brought dead by doctors, he said adding a case had been registered.
