DSWO distributes scholarships
Srinagar: The District Social Welfare Office conducted a scholarship camp at Shopian and disbursed cheques worth Rs 44.36 lakh among 3173 students of various schools under the Pre-Matric Minority scholarship scheme.
According to a communiqué, the camp was aimed at ensuring timely, transparent and hassle free disbursement of the scholarship cheques among the poor students.
The cheques were distributed among the sanctioned students in presence of their teachers and officials of the Social Welfare Department, it said adding the parents of the students and local administration appreciated the effort and praised the commitment and dedication displayed by District Social Welfare Officer Shopian and his team.
The camp started on September 28 and ended on October 4.
