DY CM FLAGS OFF TRAFFIC AMBULANCE

Srinagar, Oct 8: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand Saturday flagged off a traffic ambulance in an impressive function held at Traffic Headquarters. Traffic Ambulances, as a part of campaign that “how ambulances should be given priority on roads ahead of all traffic flow in order to save the precious lives.”
IGP Traffic, Hemant Kumar Lohia, Director Information Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, SP Traffic Maqsood –u- Zaman, prominent personalities including Dr GQ Allaqband, Omar Shafi Tramboo, Secretary Civil Society Forum and others were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that time has come to “educate the people about proper traffic regulations and adherence to traffic rules and playing a role for saving precious lives when they hear siren of ambulance.”
He said there are clear traffic rules under which overloading is totally prohibited. But still in urban and rural areas passengers are not only overloaded inside the buses, but they are often seen travelling on the rooftop of the buses which is required to be checked both by traffic and law abiding citizens, an official handout said. The function was organized by the Civil Society Forum in collaboration with traffic police.
