Jurists cancels trip to Pak

New Delhi, Sep 9: A Indian delegation comprising jurists, retired judges and the members of the All India Bar Association has cancelled its visit to Pakistan in protest against the Delhi High Court blast.
"We are compelled to cancel this harmony visit at this moment due to bomb blast at Delhi High Court in which 12 innocent persons including two lawyers have been killed," a statement issued by the All India Bar Association said.
Aimed at developing friendly relations with Pakistan, the delegation comprising 15 high-profile jurists was invited by Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, Punjab Bar Council, Sindh Bar Council, International Commission of Human Rights Lahore High Court Bar Association and various district bar associations.
The delegation was to meet Prime Minister of Pakistan, Interior Minister A Rehman Malik, Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab, leaders of various bar councils and Bar Associations.
