Kashmir Society hails HC direction on Khembar
Renzushah, others throw light on mountain importance, dog menace
Srinagar, Sept 10: Senior bureaucrat and Chairman Kashmir Society Khawaja Farooq Renzu on Saturday chaired a meeting of environmentalists, eco tourist personalities, mediamen, intellectuals, writers and others to express their gratitude to the Chief Justice, Ibraheem Kalifullah and other Judges for their “sagacious decision in protecting heavenly mountains of Khembar”.
While speaking on the occasion, Renzushah aka Eco-friendly Renzy said that on summits of Khembar mountain “exist oldest and scared shrine of Hazrat Sang Rishi where thousands of devotees visited as a matter of faith.”
He said besides its sacred character, the Khembar mountains are ideal piece of tourist sites more captivating than others places including Cheshmashahi.
“Even the horse shaped rock on which great saint came riding is still existing,” he said.
The renowned eco-tourist personality and ex-Director General, Tourism, Saleem Baig was also of the opinion that the “precious and beautifully located Khembar mountains are required to be protected.”
