Mushtaq Ali’s death anniversary observed
Srinagar, Sep 10: Journalist fraternity in Kashmir on Saturday remembered noted photojournalist Shaheed Mushtaq Ali on his 16th death anniversary.
Mushtaq was killed in a parcel bomb explosion on September 10, 1995 at Press Enclave here, which was later named after him as Mushtaq Enclave.
Journalists, including lensmen, reporters and editors of various news organizations, offered Fateha at Ali’ grave at Martyrs’ Graveyard this morning and paid glowing tributes to him.
Pertinently, senior journalist Yousuf Jameel and senior lensman Habib Naqash were also wounded in the explosion but Mushtaq succumbed to his injuries.
JKLF, JKSM JKLF (R) pay tributes
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) paid glowing tributes to Mushtaq Ali on his martyrdom anniversary. “No one can forget his contribution,” the JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said in a statement.
A delegation of JKLF (R) leaders led by their senior vice-president Javed Ahmed Mir visited the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah, here and offered Fateh for all the martyrs, including Ali, a spokesman of JKLF (R) said.
Meanwhile, JK Salvation Movement Chairman, Zaffar Akbar Bhat paid rich tributes to Mushtaq Ali. “Kashmiri journalists are doing their professional duties in dangerous situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said in a statement.
