Tamil Nadu lifts title
CHIB GIVES AWAY PRIZES
6TH NATIONAL DEAF BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Srinagar, Sep10: The Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib on Saturday appreciated the special class of physically challenged players for showing a remarkable performance in the 6th National Deaf Basketball Championship.
The championship was organized by J&K Sports Association of Deaf in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council and All India Sports Council of the Deaf, New Delhi.
The Minister, who was chief guest, was speaking at the valedictory function of the championship here.
As many as 14 Teams from across the country participated in the championship.
In the final, the Tamil Nadu team clashed with Pondicherry team and emerged as winner of the championship.
Later, the Minister gave away trophies, medals and certificates among winner, runner-up and participant teams.
Earlier, Secretary, Sports Council and other dignitaries introduced the players to the chief guest.
Among others, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council Kiran Wattal, Secretary General, All India Sports Council of the Deaf E K Jose, Assistant Secretary, All India Council of the Deaf Miss Neha, besides officers of sports council, sports lovers and members of All J&K Association of the Deaf were also present.
