Ahad Zargar remembered
Srinagar, Sep 12: At Narwara,many Sufi lovers visited the graveyard of Sufi Poet Abdul Ahad Zargar and offered joint Fateh on the eve of his memorial Day organized by Ahad Zargar Memorial Trust.
On this occasion, Justice (Retd) Hakim Imtiyaz, Khwaja Renzushah, Director Information,Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Me’raj Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (Anantnag) Kifayat Rizvi, Renowned Journalist Yousuf Jameel, G.N. Shaida, Imdad Saqi, Renowned scholars and poets, Zarief Ahmed Zarief, Rafiq Raaz, Shafi Shouq and other dignitaries were present.The elder son of Abdul Ahad Zargar, Khurshid Zargar conducted the proceedings of Ahad Zargar Conference held in Ahad Zargar Memorial Hall.Department of Information and Public Relations released special photo album on Ahad Zargar. Kifayat Rizvi, Shafi Shouq, G.N. Shaida, daughter of G.N. Farash and Gulokar Association were presented award of honour including cash award to the daughter of Farash.
Justice (Retd) Hakim Imtiyaz paid rich tributes to Ahad Zargar and said it was because of such Sufi saints and Sufi poets ‘our civilization was known throughout the world.’
He said we should never forget our past and always educate our new generations about precious contribution of such scholars and saints who imbibed the concept of love in our hearts.Renzushah was honoured with turban.
In his address, he said the time had come that all should extend their support to the ongoing movement which meant for exploring the precious contribution of our Sufi saints and poets. He said Kashmir had been since time immemorial epitome of love and brotherhood and it was because of the moral and spiritual knowledge provided by our Awlia Kiram that this society was of one of the strongest society and symbolizes our high characteristics of our high civilizations. He complimented Imdad Saqi, Zarief Ahmed Zarief, Rafiq Raaj and other organizers for organizing such a grand programmes near the Mausoleum of Ahad Zargar.
