International conference on agriculture held

Srinagar, Sep 12: A three-day International Conference on Agriculture ‘Agritech Asia’ was held at Mumbai.
 The new and innovative technology was displayed at the exhibition which concluded on September 8.
 Delegates from more than 100 countries participated in the exhibition.  From J&K, Thakur Rachpal Singh (MLA), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans participated in the exhibition.
 The purpose of the exhibition, an official statement here said, was to bring together all the constituents of the Agriculture industry under one roof to create a neutral platform for the players of the industry to share information and knowledge both technical and trade oriented, understand the market dynamics and thrash out the issues and come to conclusions that would benefit the Industry as a whole.
 A wide range of topics related to agriculture industry was discussed and presentation was made by experts with excellent domain knowledge during this conference.
 The key speakers were from Israel who invited the attention of the audience towards the development made by the Israel in the Agriculture Technology despite the fact the Israel being a small country of about 7 (seven) million people have no rains and Scarcity of Water remains at its peak.  The concept of grow more with less was most important topic discussed in the conference.
 G N Mir, Secretary, J&K State Kisan Board accompanied the Vice Chairman to the said conference.
